Henry, Mellinger Edward, 1873-1946
Brown Class of 1899. High School teacher of English; folklorist and ballad scholar; avid hiker. Collected ballads, songs, and folk tunes from the Southern Appalachians. Collaborated with his wife Florence Stokes in compiling song data collected in Tennessee, North Carolina, and Georgia.
