Mellon, James R.

James R. Mellon (1846-1934) was one on eight children of Judge Thomas Mellon (1813-1908) who has the founder of Mellon Bank and patriarch of the Mellon family in Pittsburgh (Pa.). James grew up in East Liberty and became a successful businessman, banker, prominent citizen and philanthropist. After establishing himself, he married Rachel and together they had three children, William Larimer, Lucille Hasbrouck and Thomas.
