The New York Historical Documents Inventory was a 12-year project (1978-1990) to catalog the archival collections of New York State libraries and historical societies online in a national-level database (RLIN). The project was carried out by the New York Historical Resources Center, a grant-funded entity located at Cornell University, with G. David Brumberg as director, Elaine Engst as assistant director, and Margaret M. John as the project administrator.
