Mr. Davis was born in Seattle on September 20, 1894. His given name, "Edward Wilbur" soon became "Edby." The family moved to Fairbanks in 1906 from Dawson. Davis grew up in Fairbanks, served most of his military duty in Alaska and was employed at Northern Commercial Company. He continued his education in Washington, D.C., married Miss Annella Van Devanter in North Carolina in 1924. They returned to Fairbanks in 1927 where he spent the remainder of his working days. In 1951 he resigned from the Ladd Field Power Plant to pursue his real estate and civic interest.
