Anthony, Barbara Beatley, 1929-
Barbara Beatley Anthony was born in 1929 in Boston, Massachusetts, to Grace Cobb (Radcliffe College class of 1929) and Bancroft Beatley, Harvard professor of education and later president of Simmons College. She lived in Belmont, Massachusetts, attended Shady Hill School in Cambridge and Radcliffe College (A.B. 1950). She married Reed Anthony in 1951; they had three children: Benjamin, Charlotte, and Stephen. Anthony worked as an elementary school teacher and in the Harvard Graduate School admissions and financial aid office until her retirement in 1991.
