Hide Profile
The Smith College Association for Christian Work (S.C.A.C.W.) had its origin in 1892 when a social group was formed to support religious work. Five years later the students felt a need for religious services and founded the Christian Union. Soon the social group and the Union combined to form the S.C.A.C.W. They were involved in welcoming freshman, doing social work in Northampton, sending delegates to intercollegiate religious conferences and arranging a program of lectures by outside speakers. The association was disbanded ca. 1947 or 1948.
