Utah Territory Constitutional Convention
Utah Territorial Legislature of 1872 passed resolution authorizing convention to convene and prepare constitution for state government. Mass meetings were held in counties and elected delegates met 19 February-2 March 1872. State constitution and memorial to Congress were drafted and census ordered. U. S. Congress did not act upon this statehood petition.

Utah Territorial Legislature of 1855-1856 passed act authorizing the convening of a state constitutional convention, which met 17-27 March 1856 and approved a constitution for the State of Deseret.
