Oral history project conducted in 1993 by the tenth grade English class of South Kingstown (R.I.) High School, directed by school librarian Linda Wood and English teacher Judi Scott. The project was co-sponsored by the School and the Rhode Island Historical Society and funded with a grant from the Rhode Island Committee for the Humanities. In addition to oral history tapes and accompanying transcripts a sixty page illustrated publication, The Family in the Fifties: Hope, Fear & Rock 'n Roll, containing edited versions of student papers resulting from the interviews was published in 1993.
