Hess, Esther
Missionary nurse; born July 9, 1906 in China to missionary parents; served as nurse and nurse trainer in Gansu and Henan Provinces; married Lawrence Hess in 1941, who died several months later; interned by the Japanese from 1942 to 1945, first at Temple Hill Concentration Camp and then at Wei-hsien Camp.
