Melvin Black Human Rights Committee.
Founded in response to the shooting death of Melvin Black in 1979 by Oakland, CA Police, the committe was dedicated to addressing problems in the black community. Activities included the awarding of scholarships to college bound Oakland youth and organized The Melvin Black Memorial Forum/Concert on Human Rights (March 16, 1980).
