Clarence J. Primm was born in South Dakota, worked as an educator in Michigan, Wisconsin, and Kansas, and after retirement lived in Manitowoc, Wis. He served as First lieutenant in Company M, 339th U.S. Infantry, during the American intervention of Archangel, Russia. As a staff officer he was one of the last Americans ot leave Archangel in September 1919.
