Mavor, Osborne Henry (1888-1951 : physician and dramatist)

Osborne Henry Mavor was born in Glasgow in 1888 and educated at Glasgow Academy and the University of Glasgow . He gained the qualifications MB ChB, 1913 and MD, 1929 . He became an assistant (later visiting) physician at the Victoria Infirmary, Glasgow between 1920-1938 as well as Professor of Medicine at Anderson’s College, Glasgow from 1928-1930 . Mavor retired in Glasgow, to concentrate on writing plays in 1938 and gained a CBE in 1946 . He died in 1951 .
