Grimes, John, 1781-1861.
John Grimes (1781-1861) came to Savannah, Georgia, in 1804 and began his medical practice. In the same year, Grimes was one of the founders of the Georgia Medical Society. In 1806, Grimes married Catherine Glen, the granddaughter of Noble Wimberly Jones. Grimes served as a representative of Chatham County in the General Assembly in 1809.
