John F. Cooke was appointed to the J. Paul Getty Board of Trustees in 1995 and served for 4 years, at which time Trust President Barry Munitz appointed him to the newly-created position of Executive Vice President for External Affairs. Prior to his work for the Trust, Cooke served as Executive Vice President for Corporate Affairs for the Walt Disney Company, where he was responsible for the company's world-wide alliances with major corporations. Previous to his tenure at Disney, he worked in various capacities at the Times Mirror Company where he was involved with innovative telecommunications strategies.
