Schelper Family

Henry Schelper was born in Hanover, Germany, on 1844 July 21. In 1870, he immigrated to the United States, eventually settling in San Antonio, Texas. Around 1871, he married Magdalena Schneider, who was born in Austria on 1846 November 28. The couple had six children: Henry, Paulina, Max, Anna, Emma, and Erna. For a time, Henry’s sister-in-law Pauline Schneider (1846-1932) also lived with the family in their San Antonio home. Henry Schelper died in San Antonio on 1928 April 20; his wife died on 1936 February 28.
