Harvey E. Schluchter was born in Huron County, Michigan on December 26, 1886. He joined Ford Motor Company in 1907 as a clerk and bookkeeper at the Piquette Avenue plant in Detroit. In 1927 he was appointed to company cashier and served in this role until June 1, 1943 when he was appointed assistant secretary and assistant treasurer. He was appointed corporate secretary to succeed Herman L. Moekle in 1946 and later retired from Ford Motor Company in 1947.
