Garland family.
Hugh A. Garland (1805-1854) was a prominent figure in Virginia though he eventually moved to St. Louis, Missouri. He was the author of various published volumes, including The Life of John Randolph of Roanoke, (1850). Spotswood Garland was his son.
Thomas Nelson Page was a Virginia author: In Ole Virginia, 1887.
