Withers, Thomas, 1642-1706
Thomas Withers was born at Nether Kellett, Lancashire, in 1642, went to Oxford in May 1660, married Agatha Tatham of Tunstall on October 6, 1668, and had six children: Mary (b. 1669), Martha (1672-1677), Edmund (1674-1731), William (b. 1677), Elizabeth (1679-1688), and Thomas (b. 1682). He lived at Kellett until May 1673 and then successively at Scearton and Lancaster until he became vicar of Halton in June 1678 where he remained until his death on May 26, 1706.
