Adams & Co. (Firm : San Francisco)
Adams & Co. was a California branch of the eastern express firm of Adams & Company, founded in Boston in 1840. Successful throughout the state in the express and banking business, it was run by Daniel Hale Haskell and Isaiah Churchill Woods, with Adams as a special partner. The company closed down when the financial crisis of February 1855 forced it into receivership and numerous legal problems followed.
