John Wright Hickenlooper was born in Narbeth, Pa. on February 7, 1952. He is a graduate of Wesleyan University, with degrees in English (BA, 1974) and Geology (MS, 1980). Hickenlooper was elected Mayor of the City and County of Denver in June 2003, re-elected May 2007 with 87% of the vote. In April 2005, he was named one of the top big city mayors in America by Time Magazine. Hickenlooper was elected Governor for the State of Colorado in November 2010.
