Viking (Yacht)
Steam yacht built in 1880 by John Roach and subsequently owned jointly by George S. Scott, George F. Baker, F.W. Pearsall, and H.C. Fahnstock. The Viking was sold to ex-governor of New York Samuel Tilden in 1884, and was eventually purchased by the United States government and used as a dispatch boat during the Spanish-American War in 1898.
