Carolyn Miller Hocking lived in State College, Pennsylvania, and attended State College High School during World War II and then attended the Pennsylvania State College. She was a member of Alpha Chi Omega Sorority, Associate Player, State Party, and Thespians. She graduated in 1949 with a bachelor of science degree in Home Economics. She later married and took the name Carolyn Miller Kulp, and lived in Seven Lakes, North Carolina.
