Coker and Sons, Darlington County, S.C., c.1886-1907; director of Cheraw and Darlington Railroad, c. 1885-1887; Captain, Confederate States Army; son of Caleb Coker, Jr. (1802-1869) and Hannah Lide Coker (1812-1900); husband of Mary Irvin McIver Coker and Lavinia Victoria McIver Coker; father of Allen McIver Coker, Mary Ervin Coker, Edward Caleb Coker (b. 1860), and four other children.
