Roger Blackwood was born on June 8, 1921 in Detroit to Fred Harrison Blackwood and Bessie Mae Blackwood. He graduated in 1943 with a Business Administration degree from Michigan State University. Blackwood served in the US Army from 1943 to 1946 as a Second Lieutenant. On August 20, 1948, he marries Barbara Cavan. A successful real estate broker and appraiser for over sixty years, Blackwood was known for his integrity in all business relationships and was highly sought after for his extensive knowledge of the Detroit metropolitan area. He served as President of the Detroit Board of Realtors in 1969. Blackwood died on February 20, 2010 in Troy, Michigan.
