Day family.
Norman Day was a farmer in Lorain County, Ohio, where his father, Capt. John Day, settled in 1815. His wife, Julia Ann Root, was the daughter of Henry and Mary Root, early settlers in Sheffield Township, Lorain County. Norman's son, Richard Day, served as county auditor in 1861.
