Girolamo Valenti was an anti-Fascist, anti-Communist labor leader, socialist and editor. Born April 16, 1892 in Valguarnera, Italy, he immigrated to the United States in 1911. He organized the Italian Socialist Federation (1913-1916), Amalgamated Clothing Workers of America (1916-1917), and the Italian Chamber of Labor (1920-1921) and edited Avanti, the organ of the Italian Socialist Federation (1917-1919), La Folla (1919-1920)and La Parola del Popolo (1921-1923). He wrote several books concerning socialism and participated in socialist campaigns and strikes. He was a member of the Socialist Party.
