Fitz, Reginald, 1885-
Variant namesFitz (Harvard, M.D. 1909) was associate professor of medicine at Harvard Medical School from 1922 to 1936; he also taught history of medicine during the last twenty years of his career. From 1947 to 1952 he served as assistant dean of the Faculty of Medicine and from 1935 to 1952 was a marshal of Harvard University. In 1936 Fitz was appointed professor of medicine at the Boston University School of Medicine, and he directed the Evans Memorial for Clinical Research and Preventive Medicine until 1940 when he became clinical associate at the Thorndike Memorial Laboratory at Boston City Hospital. During his years teaching medicine at Harvard he was associated with the Peter Bent Brigham Hospital.
