Ribacoff, David

David Ribacoff, was born in Bukara, Russia, one of eight children in a traditional Sephardic family. He and his family left Bukara and immigrated to Egypt in 1928. He lived in Egypt, and became a member of the Adly Street Synagogue in Cairo. David Ribacoff married his wife Lisette in 1955. However, soon after in 1956, following the Suez Canal police affair, David Rubicoff, his wife, and young son immigrated to Brazil. In 1963, David Rubicoff and his family moved to New York. David Rubicoff became involved in many projects to assist Bukharian immigrants in New York, and also became an active board member of the American Sephardi Federation.
