Bush, John, 1792-1876
Variant namesJohn Bush (1792-1876), the son of Levi and Martha "Patty" (Ball) Bush, was born in Boylston, Mass., on 3 July 1792. He graduated from Bowdoin College in 1814, and was a preceptor of an academy in Wiscasset, Me., around 1816. After 1817, Bush was a physician in Vassalboro, Me., for several years. He married, in October 1819, Anne Wayne (1799- ). She was the daughter of Edward and Anne Wayne, Quakers, of Danvers, Mass., and Vassalboro.
