Whitney, Frank S. (Frank Stevens), 1893-1959.
Frank Stevens Whitney was born in Britt, Iowa and studied civil engineering at Iowa State College (University) where he was a member of the Ausonia Club and Army ROTC until he went into the service in 1917. During World War I, he served overseas with the Rainbow Division and later the 34th Division. After his discharge in 1919, he worked in Iowa land reclamation work (1919-1923), the Kentucky Highway Department (1923-1930) and was eventually named city engineer/public works director in Huntington (West Virginia). He also managed the Tri-State Airport (1952-1955) and was active in many civic organizations. He married Anna Pearl Caudill in 1926.
