Lucy Hannah White (later Flake) was born on August 23, 1842, in Walnut Grove, Knox, Illinois. Her parents were Samuel David White and Mary Hannah Burton White. She married William Jordan Flake (1839-1932) on December 30, 1858, in Cedar City, Iron County, Utah. She passed away on January 27, 1900, in Snowflake, Navajo County, Arizona.

Lucy Hannah White was born on August 23, 1842, in Walnut Grove, Illinois. Her grandparents had joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints while still in England, and Lucy and her family crossed the plains to Utah in 1850, settling first in Lehi and then Cedar City. She married William Jordan Flake (1839-1932), whose family had helped settle San Bernardino, California, in Cedar City in 1858. William worked on the St. George Temple, and while attending the dedication ceremony was called on a mission to Arizona. The family, including Lucy and William's eight children and William's plural wife, Prudence Kartchner, left Utah in 1877. They settled with William Allen's United Order camp before founding a new settlement, which Erastus Snow named Snowflake in their honor. Lucy was actively involved in a variety of community endeavers, including with the Relief Society of Snowflake, for which Lucy was chosed as Primary President for the Stake in 1895. Lucy died in Snowflake on August 12, 1932, two days after the death of her husband.

She married William Jordan Flake (1839-1932) on December 30, 1858, in Cedar City, Iron County, Utah. She passed away on January 27, 1900, in Snowflake, Navajo County, Arizona. Her children were James Madison (1859-1946), William Melvin (1861-1861)*, Charles Love (1862-1892), Samuel Orson (1864-1864), Mary Agnes (1866-1909), Osmer Dennis (1868-1958), Lucy Jane (1870-1952), Wilford Jordan (1871-1871)**, George Burton (1875-1878), Roberta (1877-1981), Joel White (1880-1977), John Taylor (1882-1973), and Melissa (1886-1886).
