Ronald Valentine Hogg, from Salem, Oregon, enrolled at Oregon Agricultural College in 1918 and graduated in 1923 with a BS in agriculture. His older brother, John Glenn Hogg, attended from 1917 to 1922 and earned a BS in agriculture in 1922. Both were members of the Alpha Zeta agriculture honor society. They were sons of a Salem farmer who bred prize-winning pigs; they returned to Salem after graduation. Both men died in Salem, John in 1985 and Ronald in 1994.
