Harap taught at schools in New York City, including the Ethical Culture School, was the Director of the Boys Dept. of the Hudson Guild, New York City, and was a professor of education at Antioch College, Western Reserve University, Ohio State, and elsewhere. He also worked at the Division of Surveys and Field Services, George Peabody College for Teachers; and was active in the Society for Curriculum Study.
