Cornell, Charlotte Hawley, 1818-1893.
Charlotte Hawley Cornell was born near Birmingham, England (1818) and later emigrated with her parents to New York (1825). She married Chauncey Cornell, superintendent of the Long Island Railroad (1838). The Cornells sailed to California (1852) where Mr. Cornell and his brother farmed near Oakland. They later operated a store in Alvarado.
