Carol Green Wilson was born in Livingston, Montana, on April 16, 1892. She received a B.A. from Stanford in 1914, and served as editor of the Stanford Alumni Magazine from 1918-1921, and again from 1928-1935. In addition to the biography of her uncle William R. Staats (published 1947), Wilson was the author of multiple histories and biographies, including Chinatown quest : the life adventures of Donaldina Cameron (1931), Gump's treasure trade : a story of San Francisco (1949), Alice Eastwood's wonderland : the adventures of a botanist (1955), We who wear kites : the story of Kappa Alpha Theta,1870-1956 (1956), and Arthur Fielder, music for the millions : the story of the conductor of the Boston Pops Orchestra (1968). She died in Connecticut in 1981.
