St. Martin family.
Members of the St. Martin family are descendants of Pierre Bauchet St. Martin, who immigrated to Louisiana from Canada in the eighteenth century. The St. Martin family, as well as the Perret and D'Arensbourg families, are among the earliest European settlers in Louisiana. Louis St. Martin (1820-1893) served in the U.S. House of Representatives, and was the first registrar of voters in New Orleans.
