Mormon mother. Mary Walton Russell was born April 17, 1811 to John Walton and Ann Millican Walton in England. She was raised in Canada by the Jarvis family. She married Isaac Russell in 1829 and moved to Missouri, where her husband died in 1844. She died in Salt Lake City, Utah on May 2, 1864.

Mormon convert. Born April 13, 1807 near Alston, Cumberland, England. His family emigrated to Canada in 1817. He was married to Mary Walton in 1829 and converted to the Mormon Church in 1838. He died September 25, 1844 in Missouri.
