Viele Family.

Two brothers, Cornelius Cornelisen Viele and Peter Cornelisen Viele were early settlers in Schenectady, New York, having purchased land in 1668 and 1670, respectively. Cornelis Viele's descendant, Philip Viele (1745-1797), whose family this collection belonged to, married Rachel Fonda (1748-1839) in 1770. They had four children, Jacob, Cornelis, Rebecca, and Nicholas (1790-1861). Nicholas Viele married Jane Schermerhorn.
