Luther Emerson Robinson taught English at Monmouth College in Illinois and was simultaneously a public librarian. His main works were Abraham Lincoln as a Man of Letters (1918) and a textbook, History of Illinois (1909). In 1933 he was invited by Rufus Rockwell Wilson, of the Press of the Pioneers, in New York, to compile "A Lincoln Anthology," which was never published.
