The Associates of the National Agricultural Library was founded in 1970 to promote the development of the library by means of encouraging the donation of gifts and desirable collections, providing direct financial assistance for the purchase of unique items, aiding in public relations by informing the community about library services and challenges, and communicating the needs of the community to the library administration. In the 1990s, the organization dissolved.
