Harris, Samuel D. (Samuel Devens).
Resident of Boston, Mass. Served in the Massachusetts militia, as aid to General Dearborn, then as captain of the 2nd Regiment of Light Dragoons during the War of 1812, under various generals, including Edmund Gaines and Jacob Brown. He saw action at Sackett's Harbor, Oswego, and all over the Niagara Frontier. After the war, he served as chief engineer with the Boston Fire Department.
