One of the most widely known of the younger Yukoners, Otto Nordling (1893-1978) wrote letters to the newspapers and members of the Canadian parliament on the subject of a better deal for senior citizens. Born in Lulea, Sweden, he arrived in Dawson with his parents and siblings in 1914. He graduated from Dawson High School, spent several years with the Bank of Montreal, and served with the Royal Canadian Army Service Corps (1940-1958).
