L.C. Gilman became president of the Somers Lumber Company upon Howard James' death in November 1912. He resigned effective 1 January 1914 to become president of the Spokane, Portland and Seattle Railway. His incoming and outgoing correspondence covers primarily the general operations of the Somers (Mont.) lumber plant, including personnel matters, repairs to equipment, and accounting matters.
