The Anchorage Film Society was a nonprofit organization which sought to present distinguished motion picture films to the Anchorage community each month. The organization was supported by the sale of season tickets. For a time, it was a department of the Anchorage Community Theater in affiliation with Anchorage Community College. Later, it was operated by a board of directors. The organization, lacking a viewing location, went out of existence in 1981.
