Monro, E. C. (Elbert Clark), 1897-1962.
Elbert C. Monro and his wife, Dorothy Heighton Monro, attended the University of Arizona in 1917-1920. In 1926, they composed the school song, "All Hail, Arizona." Monro served in World War I, later joined the Arizona National Guard, and served in the Panama Canal Zone from 1941 to 1944. He ran the Monro Insurance Agency and was chairman of the City Civil Service Commission in Tucson.
