Sosnowski, Sophie, 1810-1899.
Emigre Polish noblewoman, Madame Sophie Sosnowski, was a well-known teacher from Columbia, South Carolina who accepted the position of principal of the Lucy Cobb Institute in 1865. After and 1868 disagreement with the Board of Trustees, she left the Lucy Cobb School and later opened the Home School. She died Dec. 8, 1917.
