Professor Dennis Marsden

From 1964 until his retirement in 1999, Dennis Marsden was Professor of Sociology at the University of Essex. This collection comprises what remains of the research papers gathered during the course of his career. His main publications are: Education and the Working Class (1962) and Working Class Community (1968) (both with Brian Jackson); Mothers Alone: Poverty and the Fatherless Family (1969); Workless: Some Unemployed Men and their Families (1975); Scheming for Youth: YTS and the Enterprise Culture (1990) (with David Lee et al).
