Alexis F. Hartmann Sr. was a 1921 graduate of the Washington University Medical School. He was Professor (Asst., Associate & Full) of Pediatrics at Washington University School of Medicine, 1925-1963 and Head of Dept of Pediatrics, 1936-1964. AFH was also Physician-In-Chief St. Louis Children's Hospital 1936-64. His areas of research were renal function and diseases, diabetes, hypoglycemia, and fluid and electrolyte disturbances.--Amer.
