Sweet, Gordon
Justin Smith Morrill was born in Strafford, Vermont on April 14, 1810. He became a Vermont representative (1855-1867) and senator (1867-1898) known mainly for the Morrill Land-Grant Colleges Act, passed in 1862. Justin Smith Morrill died on December 28, 1898.
