Lydia T. Adams was born in Kingston, Massachusetts on March 25, 1821, daughter of Thomas and Lydia (Cook) Bradford. She married George T. Adams on February 18, 1844 and gave birth to Horatio Adams on November 8, 1845. She died from "Arterio Sclerosis" on March 20, 1908. According to an obituary notice published in the April 4, 1908 issue of the Old Colony Memorial she was a direct descendant of Gov. Bradford, the Mayflower Pilgrim..and with her son presented to the town of Kingston, the land where the Frederick C. Adams Library is located.
